"Lease-end" sounds final, but it's not. The end of your Ford lease period is the time to either end your lease, purchase your lease or buy/lease a brand new Ford. In either case, there are some lease-end tips to bear in mind. Our Mark Moats Ford team put together some of the most important.

Keep it Clean

A vehicle that looks and drives like new at lease-end is a good thing. The more sound and sellable your leased Ford is, the fewer fees incurred when you attempt to return your lease, to lease a different Ford model or to purchase your existing leased vehicle. As a general rule, your leased vehicle should be emptied of all personal items, but it should contain any items or accessories the leased Ford came with, such as fobs, headphones and owner's manuals.

Use and Wear

Leases come with stipulations about mileage and vehicle wear. A special assessment determines use and wear. Any excessive mileage and wear incurs fees you must pay to finalize your lease return. You may also roll the fees into the cost of purchasing your lease or into the cost of leasing another new vehicle.
